Week Fourteen ...

Our sidewalk was poured!

Porch ceiling was put up! We have can lights and speakers that run all along the porch ceiling.

The beams will all be wrapped, this one isn't done yet.

This is what they will look like.

More siding was done.... very close to this being done.

Sneak Peak of the slate that will be in our kitchen, mudroom and hallway. I love it.

Toilets were installed! I love them.... as silly as that is, it's true! {baseboard still needs to be installed}

I love the handles.

Other plumbing was installed, too!

And more light fixtures. We also trimmed out the windows in the master and started the baseboard in the master, too. This is a pretty good picture of the color in our room. I love it.

Baseboard shot.

Some more happenings this past week ...

The whole upstairs is all painted {my husband rocks}!
The slate started getting laid on Saturday a.m.
The main level started getting painted

We are getting SO close and can't wait to finally be in our house! I'll be back soon!

Week Eight {Days One thru Five} ...

Life is crazy busy right now in our little household! Things are moving fast with the house and Nick is busy working full time and then working on the house at night and on the weekends {and being full time dad when he is home!}. The boys are growing and changing every day and I have been busy soaking them up and preparing to start another great school year teaching my first and second graders {School starts Tuesday! These last five months flew by!}.

This past week we had our electric and plumbing inspections and passed them both! They also got all the windows in, the basement glass doors installed, the entire porch framed {the floor still needs to be laid and the shingles put on} and the concrete in our garage poured! Nick also air sealed the entire house and as I write this he is there putting in our insulation with my father in law {I love having a handy husband who knows how to do all of this stuff!}.

I know in the pictures lately the house hasn't really seemed to change that much. It's hard to really capture everything that has been happening the last few weeks {electric, plumbing, air sealing, insulation and so on} in pictures. But, this coming week it will be changing a lot because... the dry wall is being installed! I am so, so excited for this!

Here are a few pictures from this past week ...

The porch!

Cement poured in the garage!

All the windows in!

Side shot of porch and house.

Basement walk-out doors.

Hurray for windows!

Week One {Day 5 & the Weekend} ...

On Friday, July 15th our basement walls were poured! I drove out to the property during the day to show one of my girlfriends who hadn't seen it yet {with the boys in tow} and there was four cement trucks there! Porter loved this. It was so cool to see them all at work ... so cool that I didn't get a single picture! I was so mad at myself when I realized that later. It would have been cool to get pictures of all those cement trucks at once. Oh well!

On Saturday Nick headed out after breakfast to cut back some overgrown trees and shrubs along the driveway. The boys and I headed out there a little while later to go play with trucks in the big sand piles. It was blazin' hot though, so we didn't stay too long. I did get a few pictures of the house from an angle I haven't been able to yet because that is where the guys are always working. Later that afternoon we went appliance shopping and picked out our new appliances. This was so much fun, for the whole family! No joke, Porter seriously loved it. I love our new appliances {well... for now, I will get back to you once we actually use them for a while!} and I can't wait to see them all set up and use them!

Today, Sunday, Nick headed back this morning to continue with his project from the day before for just a few hours. Then, we headed to the beach! It was another hot day {in the high 90's} and we had to take advantage of living in such a beautiful place {that is surrounded by water!}.

Now onto week two! More concrete pouring this week, including our basement floor! Some plumbing will get started this week, our first inspections will  happen, and if all goes well we should start some floor framing on Friday {hopefully!}.

Sam was diggin' too!

chubby cheeks. how I love him so.

Sweet boy.

So blessed to call this Home.

Week One { Day Three & Four } ...

On Wednesday, July 13th the cement truck came to pour the footings for our basement walls! This made it seem so real because they were pouring the beginning of our foundation. It was exciting to watch and Porter loved it. I think it was by far his favorite "big machine" so far. We stayed for quite a while watching them work.

The sky was beautiful that day. I couldn't help but take random pictures of our land.

 Garage!

Porter was exhausted on the way home and passed out cold. Ha! It was only 6:00! Sweet little face.

On Thursday, July 14th we didn't go together to the property until almost dark {Nick stops by and checks things out through out the day} because we were out to dinner with Greg and Cookie. Above is our view at dinner. Gorgeous. We had a blast and the food was amazing. After we got done with dinner we stopped by really fast so I could see the progress from the day and snap some pictures. I, however, forgot my camera so these were snapped with my I-Phone!

They had everything set up to pour the concrete for our walls, which will happen today!

Again, the sky was gorgeous. It was a fabulous night.
