Week Ten {Continued...}

Here I am behind once again! I guess I should pretty much forget trying to update during the crazy work week, huh?!

I met with the paint consultant out at the house yesterday and we finalized our paint colors! I love them {for now} and can't wait to see them up on the walls! Hopefully we love them as much once they are on the walls as we do now. That part is always a little scary. We have done this many times and I am very aware of the fact that it can sometimes turn out NOTHING like you imagined it!

The dry wall is finished as of today! Woooo Whooo!

Weston and I are both fighting nasty colds so I am not sure if I will be out there again this weekend to get more pictures but, here are the ones from last Sunday. A week outdated already!

Nick's siding painting set up in the garage.

Rounded edges.

Soffit and fascia {the white trim around the house and porch} was finished!

Nick working on the rock walls.

One of them is done!

We have some grass starting to grow. One of the hardest things for me was seeing the beautiful field grass get dug up and the trees cut down while building. So glad that part is over!

Red farm house! There is more done now. You can also see the hay on the ground. Nick and his parents worked hard on getting that all graded and seed and hay down.

We now have water too! & We can water our grass.
I will be back soon with pictures from this last week {week eleven}!
Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Week Ten {Days One Thru Five} ...

I am seriously slacking on pictures of the house this week. Actually, my blog title is a big fat lie considering I haven't been to the house since Wednesday and so my pictures are only through day Three and completely outdated now! Our work week is just crazy and after working all day, picking up the babies and heading back into town I barley make it home with enough energy to make dinner! So, frequent trips to the house have taken a back seat for the time being. Good thing we will be LIVING there soon {but we have so much work ahead of us before that happens!}. Also, the drywall mudding/finishing is the longest process of house building {takes two weeks} so there hasn't been a whole lot of picture progress to document.

Drywall is set to be done this coming Friday. I can't wait to see the finished project! I have a meeting with the interior paint consultant at 4:00 on Friday to finalize our interior paint colors. I am really excited for this! I have our main color picked out {found it and fell in love with it on the Parade of Homes this year} and so we will base the other colors around that.

I will be out to the house this weekend {GORGEOUS weekend here!} and will snap some more pictures. I will update tomorrow {Sunday} but for now here are a few that I shot on Wednesday!

Our siding color is so hard to capture in a picture {and a I-Phone picture at that...} but you kind of get the idea? More siding has been put on since this picture was taken!

We are having rounded edges on our walls. I am excited for this! I have seen it a few new homes lately and I love the way it looks.

Sorry for the weak update! I will be back tomorrow with more. Now it's time to enjoy this beautiful weather while we still have it!

Week Nine {Days One thru Five} ...

Sorry I have been MIA this past week. The 2011-2012 school year started {I have a pretty adorable group of 17 first & second graders!} Tuesday and we have been trying to adjust to our new schedule. Life is very busy, but wonderful!

We are officially less then TWO months away from living in our HOME! I am beyond excited.  This past week was a big one... our dry wall went up! The next two weeks will be spent finishing {mudding} the dry wall and then we will get to paint! Seeing the dry wall go up officially made our house feel like home. I can't wait to get moved in and spend the next few months unpacking, organizing and slowly decorating {that part still intimidates me...}. We are so close!

This week they also...

Put the roof on our porch
Installed the garage door
Installed the front door
We FINALLY decided on a siding color and started painting {we are using fiber cement siding and painting it ourselves}
Soffit and fascia went up
Insulation was finished before dry wall went up

Porter and Daddy in the tractor!

Nick and his dad put in all of the insulation. This is a horrendous job. Nick's best friend, Derek, also helped with this. You guys rock! {this is the kitchen}

Before dry wall.

Installing dry wall.

Sky light! {in master bathroom and the boy's bathroom}

Garage door! Siding going up to the left.

Siding color we decided on! It got the most votes and we also liked it best. What do you think?! I am really excited to have a red house!

I love our front door.

One view from entrance.

Other view.

Kitchen. {with Porter and Sam's tail!}

Living room.

Master closest :) I can't wait to get our stuff organized again ...

Our bedroom.

Standing in the dining room area looking down the hallway towards the entry. Half bath on the right {first door} then the door to the basement.

Have a great weekend, friends!

Week Eight {Days One thru Five} ...

Life is crazy busy right now in our little household! Things are moving fast with the house and Nick is busy working full time and then working on the house at night and on the weekends {and being full time dad when he is home!}. The boys are growing and changing every day and I have been busy soaking them up and preparing to start another great school year teaching my first and second graders {School starts Tuesday! These last five months flew by!}.

This past week we had our electric and plumbing inspections and passed them both! They also got all the windows in, the basement glass doors installed, the entire porch framed {the floor still needs to be laid and the shingles put on} and the concrete in our garage poured! Nick also air sealed the entire house and as I write this he is there putting in our insulation with my father in law {I love having a handy husband who knows how to do all of this stuff!}.

I know in the pictures lately the house hasn't really seemed to change that much. It's hard to really capture everything that has been happening the last few weeks {electric, plumbing, air sealing, insulation and so on} in pictures. But, this coming week it will be changing a lot because... the dry wall is being installed! I am so, so excited for this!

Here are a few pictures from this past week ...

The porch!

Cement poured in the garage!

All the windows in!

Side shot of porch and house.

Basement walk-out doors.

Hurray for windows!
