Family Pictures ...

Remember when I mentioned a few weeks ago that my sister {www.sweetmondayphotography.com} was in town and took our pictures? Well here is a little sneak peak! Porter was NOT having it that night {or really any night, for that matter. He is anti pictures right now...} and our VERY smiley baby wouldn't crack a smile {go figure}, but they still turned out pretty wonderful. It was so fun to get some at our house while it was in the process of being built. It won't be long and I will be hanging these pictures on the walls of our new home. I can't wait.

Week Seven {Days Four & Five} ...

Our guys continued to work on the porch framing and porch roof!

Nick cut  out the window frames in the garage and put the windows in!

There was some crazy storm clouds as the rain moved in. I tried to capture them in this picture, and the pictures below.

Nick and Porter watching the storm move in from the master bedroom.

Well, hello there sweet one.

Gorgeous sunset after the rain {it was a quick rain, only about 20 minutes}.

Week Seven {Days One thru Three} ...

This week is week seven! It's almost been two months since we first broke ground. It's crazy to me on just how much has been done in only seven weeks. This week so far has been an exciting one {aren't they all?}! Last night we took dinner out there and had a picnic with my mom. It was a beautiful night and we had fun walking all around the land and snapping pictures of the progress this week. I even got to help Nick wrap the house {they put house wrap on the house before putting the siding up in case water or moisture gets through the siding somehow, so the house will still be protected.} which was fun!

They got more of the porch and porch roof framed! Ekkkk!

The garage windows are framed {from the inside} but still haven't been cut out, so the garage will look different once that is done. There are two windows.

4 windows were put in {one in the kitchen, two in the dining room and one in the master so far} and two sliders {one in the dining room and one in the living room}. Nick helped with this. The sliders were 400+ lbs!

Closer up on the windows. The white stuff you see is the house wrap.

Our fireplace was installed! I LOVE our fireplace. At  our old house our fireplace was strictly for looks. You could burn real wood in it and everything but it wouldn't really give off any heat that would actually help heat the house. This little baby is the exact opposite and if we need it to, can heat the house. Very excited about this! Plus I think it fits great with our farmhouse theme. I really love it.

Slider in living room.

The excavators finished on Monday and are officially done at our house! We no longer have random man made dirt hills and mounds. It looks totally different out there now, and I love it. Now we just need to get some grass growing...

Another shot of the porch, coming from the side of the house/garage.

Hey! Look! There I am! {with Weston!} I am usually always behind the camera! My mom took this as we took our nightly walk on the land. Weston was catching a evening snooze.

Nana and Porter looking at some cool rocks.

I saw this bright red dragon fly land on the house as we were wrapping it. I have never seen one that color. It was pretty awesome!

Porter sitting in a window!

This is what I helped do! I rolled the paper out and held it up and Nick stapled it!

Nick got quite a few more posts dug for our fence as well!

Week Six {Days Three thru Five} ...

Last week was another big week at the house! Things are moving so fast and so far everything has gone really smoothly! After helping after work all week Nick also spent a majority of his weekend working out on the house as well. I love that he not only drew and designed our house plans but is also helping with the building aspect as well {he used to build in the summers while in college, and then started in the office as project manager once he graduated}. He will be able to tell our boys someday that he drew our house and also helped build it, and I love that!

I will let the pictures do the talking this week. I am a little behind do to computer issues last week/weekend. Hopefully I can stay on top of posting this week!

We went out there on both Saturday and Sunday and brought the guys lunch {our wonderful plumber and electrical guy were out there too!} and spent some time running around and having fun. The horses came out to pasture just as we were leaving one day. I just love them.

We have now decided {I think!} on a red farmhouse with white trim. Which shade do you like best? {seriously!} All three are different and we are having a hard time choosing ...

The sky lights were put in!

And the roof was finished on the whole house!

They started framing our wrap around porch. This is probably the thing I am the most excited about. I have always dreamed of living in the country with a big, wrap around porch.

They left the big diggers there over the weekend. Porter was so excited! They are HUGE machines!

Our windows were delivered!

Our mutt, Sam, loves the property. He just runs and runs and it makes him a very tired, and happy, pup!

Again with the horses, I love them.

Cool shot with the sunset as we left one night.

I wear Weston in the Ergo carrier when we are there and he LOVES it. Happy little babe!

Another porch shot.

Porter and Sam exploring.
